MacBook Pro 2015 and MacBook 12 inch have disappointing graphics performance

OS X yosemite 10.10.3 graphics performance

MacBook Pro 2015 si 12 inch MacBook were launched by the Apple company with new integrated graphics cards, and this seems to have been a not so good decision, the first benchmarks made for them proving that they do not offer better performance than the old Macs. In the image above you have a comparison made between a MacBook Pro 15 inch 2013, a MacBook Pro 13 inch 2015 and a MacBook 12 inch, the first winning in almost all cases with big differences compared to the new Macs offered by the Apple company in the last month of days.

MacBook Pro 15-inch 2013 is integrated graphics card Intel Iris Pro 5200 plus a dedicated card Nvidia GT 750M, while MacBook Pro 13 inch 2015 has an integrated graphics card Intel Iris 6100, MacBook 12 inches instead having an graphics card Intel HD 5300. Between these three it was clear that the Nvidia graphics card will win in all cases and this is fully demonstrated, the Apple company offering disappointing graphics performance for its Macs, but we are talking about the same thing in the case of general performances, which are in many cases halved compared to the Pro- the 2 year old one.

  1. You can't have them all. You want absolute superlative portability, you lose out on computing power and other performance. You want superb performance, you lose out on portability. The new macs are distinguished by portability, not necessarily by performance. It remains to be seen if the drop in performance affects the user experience or not. For Office-type applications, or content consumption, there may not be any problem.

  2. What weak video cards... an acer E5 572G has an nvidia gt 840m, a better video card than the ones above... you also give 20 mil on it... compared to the 50 a mac has:))... they were around 2-3 articles, certain paragraphs like: "samsung puts a high-resolution screen for nothing if the hardware is weak" (however, it's not true... it's not weak in any case... the lower performance is due to the resolution... anyway not they are small:)).)….but here we are talking about a 2013 model and another 2015 model, the difference being very big….my opinion is that apple must learn to stop putting weak hardware and a screen with a high resolution (considering that the 2013 model is better than the 2015, and at the same time you spend a lot of money on them)

  3. We are comparing apples with pears here, it is about the 13-inch 2015 macbook pro with integrated graphics card and the 15-inch macbook pro with dedicated graphics card, even if it is an older model, it is still a dedicated card, hence the result of the comparison. Why not compare macbook pro 13 inch 2013 with macbook pro 13 inch 2015?

  4. These are not problems, it's normal, we're just talking about Apple... any problem that occurs with a product is either the user's fault or that's how the product was designed, there are no problems... with the rest of the companies on the market, this would clearly be a big problem , but that's not the problem here, that's how everything was thought from the beginning.
This Mac was not created to be used, it was created to keep it open while drinking a coffee at Starbucks and for people to look at you, it doesn't need performance, the important thing is to look good, to perform well when walk with him by the arm.
