Based on the change made today, iDevice users who have a version older than iOS 7 they will be able to use the browser Safari to view videos YouTube, but unfortunately the owners of Apple TV 2G they remain without any possibility to access the YouTube network because they do not have access to iOS 7 for installation.

Certain older YouTube apps will no longer be supported after April 2015. Devices affected: Select devices manufactured in 2012 and earlier, including Sony TVs & Blu-ray Discs, Panasonic TVs & Blu-ray Discs, older iOS devices, and devices running older versions of Google TV. As we upgrade the YouTube Data API to bring more features, we'll begin shutting down the old version on April 20, 2015.

Until the end of this month YouTube will continue to provide support for all the terminals mentioned in the announcement made during this day, so if you own any of them you can rest easy for now because only from May you will be affected by the changes to be imposed by Google.

Apple TV YouTube not working

At the moment, any search made on these terminals through the application YouTube has as its main result the video clip from the beginning of this article, having the role of bringing to the attention of users the major change that they will not have any method to avoid, unfortunately.

If your device supports iOS 7 or above, you can download the YouTube app from the App Store. If not, visit m.youtube.com in your mobile browser to access YouTube. If you're using Apple TV 3rd generation, you can get the latest version of the YouTube app by updating your software: Select Settings > General > Update Software. If there is an upgrade available, click Download and Install. If you're using Apple TV 2nd generation or older, unfortunately there's no current way to watch YouTube on these devices.

Apple removed the native YouTube application from iOS 7, so Google was forced to create a separate application with a separate API, and at the moment maintaining the old one no longer has any logic since over 98% of iDevice/Apple TV Its devices run iOS 7 or iOS 8.
