Adoption rate a iOS 8 it reaches 82% just three weeks after Apple announced an increase to 80% for the iOS install base on iPhones, iPads and iPod Touches that are active worldwide. Practically at the moment 82% of all these terminals are running one of the iOS 8 versions released by Apple and this is impressive if we consider that Android 5 does not even come close to such an adoption rate many months after its release.
Comparing with last year, the adoption rate of iOS 7 was over 90% at this time of the year, the Apple company bragging about its achievement during WWDC 2014, but this year things will not be the same. iOS 8 was extremely problematic, even from the first days after its release, and Apple had great problems in convincing people to install the latest updates of the operating system.
Things have improved since the fall and so far, but Apple still can't reach the 90% mark for iOS 8 adoption, and it will be interesting to see if it manages to do so by the fall of this year, when iOS 9 to be released.
