DeDirect protects you from the dangerous vulnerability of the Mail application

iOS 8 phishing emailYesterday we told you that the Mail application in iOS contains a very dangerous vulnerability that allows hackers to steal your passwords and accounts for almost everything, including banking information.

The Apple company has been aware of the existence of this vulnerability since January, but until now it has done absolutely nothing to solve it, so the person who discovered it decided to make it public in order to force the Apple company to solve it.

Prevents emails from redirecting you to another web page within the Mail app without your permission. For technical details, take a look at this proof-of-concept of it being used maliciously. No options to configure. No Screenshots for this item.

To help us protect ourselves from this problem, a tweak called DeDirect was designed, it prevents automatic redirection to various websites without our consent.

Practically in this way we should be protected to a certain extent from the problem of vulnerability, but it remains to be seen how the hackers will try to overcome it. DeDirect is available for free download from Cydia's BigBoss repo.
