Apple is praised for the way it protects user data from government authorities

Apple transparent user dataCompany Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), was praised by the EFF, Electronic Frontier Foundation, for the way it protects user data from government authorities and for providing information regarding data requests.

For about a year, Apple has been publishing data on the requests made by government authorities regarding the provision of data from the accounts or smartphones of certain users, indicating the number of approved or rejected requests.

As you will see in the document published by the EFF, the companies Apple and Dropbox received 5 stars, among others, but those from Google received only three stars, while Facebook received four stars, so they it does not protect users as well.

Adobe, CREDO, Sonic, Wickr, Wikimedia, WordPress.com and Yahoo have been praised as well as Apple or Dropbox for protecting users and providing information on data requests, so if you use these services, you know you are protected.

Although Apple was praised this year and last year by receiving 5 stars, in the previous three years Apple received only one star for the way it provides information regarding government requests for data, so a lot has changed since- over the years.

Tim Cook has repeatedly argued that protecting user data is very important for Apple and the company has been praised for the security systems implemented in iOS or OS X, and now it is also receiving praise for transparency.

Unfortunately, Apple doesn't protect our information that well, the most dangerous iPhone malware being announced yesterday, allowing the theft of passwords from applications.
