In practice, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is 25% faster than the iPad Air 2 in the test performed using Geekbench, the difference being a very big one that allows an operating system like Windows to run, even in a form compatible with tablets.
Having said that, if you are looking for a tablet and have a lot of money to spend, then the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is the choice, but if you want something cheaper, but with a very good experience, then the iPad Air 2 is the choice.
