Facebook is developing an audio streaming service

Facebook Messenger iOS 9Facebook develops an audio streaming service, which is in the early stages of creation, the American company intending to compete with Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC),, Spotify, Google and the rest of the big American companies that offer such services for their users all over the world.

Facebook has been talking for some time with major record companies for the launch of an audio streaming service and although initially it was thought that everything would be related to the display of advertisements over the video clips visible on its network, in reality Facebook's plans are completely different.

Before bringing an audio streaming service to the market, those from Facebook intend to properly develop their system for displaying ads over the video clips displayed on their own network, so we will have to wait until their plans are finalized.

Music Ally can reveal that while Facebook will expand that trial to music videos soon, the social network is planning to follow that with the launch of an audio music-streaming service to compete with Spotify, Apple Music and others. Sources have told Music Ally that an audio service is very much on Facebook's roadmap, but that both the social network and rightsholders realize that it has to get the monetized-video service right first.

The interesting part of the service developed by Facebook lies in the fact that Americans could acquire an existing audio streaming service, Rdio being the one rumored for acquisition, the move being similar to the one made by Apple with Beats Audio last year.

If Facebook succeeds in launching its audio streaming service in the next period, then Apple Music and Spotify could have serious competition, because more than 1 billion people constantly use the Facebook social network from various media.

Although Apple has a very large user base, Facebook has an even larger and much more loyal one, so its service could be much more successful than Apple Music.
