Qualcomm WiPower is based on a new charging standard called Resences, this being presented in January and developed by an organization that also includes important smartphone manufacturers such as Samsung, Intel, Microsoft, LG, Asus, Lenovo or Motorola.
According to Qualcomm, the technology Qualcomm WiPower it is able to offer the same wireless charging power for terminals with metal cases as that offered for terminals with plastic cases, so users have nothing to lose by using it.
Although the Qualcomm WiPower technology is very important in the long term and will certainly be adopted by many smartphone manufacturers, for now it is not known when it could be implemented on a large scale in the mobile terminals launched on the market.
Qualcomm WiPower could also be a solution for the Apple company in the idea of implementing wireless charging for mobile terminals with metal cases, but since it was developed by manufacturers of Android terminals, it has minimal chances of reaching the iPhone.
