According to a company that analyzed the number of daily playbacks of songs between July and August 2015, the favorite artist of Beats 1 Radio DJs is The Weeknd, his songs being played no less than 180 times, he being followed by Drake with 163 plays and Disclosure with 144.
A total of over 3,371 different songs were played on Beats 1 Radio during this period, with each song being played an average of 3.7 times, a decent figure for a radio station that is online for 12 hours a day around the globe for all Apple Music users.
Based on the analysis of the songs played, Beats 1 Radio DJs prefer hip-hop with 1,726 plays, the alternative genre being placed in second position with 1.506 plays, while electronic music occupied the third position with approximately 802 plays, so now you know what you will listen to.
Beats 1 has something that is rare in the world of digital music: scarcity. Listeners can't choose a song and play it over and over. But curation doesn't mean songs aren't repeated. We counted 12,445 tracks but only 3,371 unique songs, meaning each track was played an average of 3.7 times. Eighteen of the 20 songs in the table above were played over 50 times.
Considering that Beats 1 Radio is a station that broadcasts non-stop all over the world, all the songs are in English and are created by artists from the USA, Canada or Great Britain, so it is unlikely that you will hear songs by other international artists in another language.
