Apple wants all third-party accessories to have packaging similar to that of its products

Apple packagingA few weeks ago I told you that Apple "encourages" partners who sell accessories in Apple Stores to change the design of its packaging so that it resembles more the ones used by Apple to make the displays more beautiful.

The encouragement actually involved forcing the partners to accept what Apple wants or to "do their business" in other places, so that many of those who depend on the sales generated by Apple Stores accepted the new demands of those in Cupertino.

Now Apple is taking things further in its attempt to control even the independent partners that produce accessories, asking them for new changes to the way they create their packaging for the products sold in its Apple Stores.

Apart from the initial requirements, they must record the images on the packaging only from certain angles, all products must be recorded from the same angle, regardless of which category they belong to, and the materials used for the packaging must be premium.

Over the past six months Apple has worked closely with partners to redesign packaging. When customers come into stores, "we want them to have the same great experience.". Apple even sent back to the companies boxes they didn't like, insisting that they use "better quality packaging material."

Because everything must be exactly as Apple wants, the American company sent back to its partners some packaging that it did not consider to be suitable, they had to invest new amounts of money to create different packaging for the products.

The change from Apple generates additional costs for partners who have to think about their packaging in a different way, but on the other hand it could help them sell more, but it remains to be seen in the end who will have more to gain .
