Young people under criminal investigation for nude selfies

young people judged nude selfieTwo young people from the USA were criminally investigated by the American prosecutors because nude selfies were discovered in their terminals that represented them and were taken by each of them.

To understand the situation even better, a 17-year-old man was criminally investigated because he had nude pictures of him on his phone when he was 16 years old, and his girlfriend went through the same legal problems because she had nude pictures of herself in your own phone.

The situation itself seems taken from a bad bank, but the American prosecutors investigated the two teenagers, accusing them of having committed the crimes of child pornography and exploitation of minors, this in the conditions in which they committed the crimes themselves.

Yes, you read that right, the 17 year old was accused of sexual exploitation and the girl was accused of the exact same thing, the boy agreeing to submit to random police searches for 1 year to avoid being sent in court under the indictments of the prosecutors.

The teenager was charged as an adult under federal child pornography felony laws, for sexually exploiting a minor. The minor was himself. His girlfriend, Brianna Denson, was also prosecuted for having naked pictures of herself on her phone. It was illegal for both of them to possess photos of themselves – but it would not be illegal for them to have sex, as she was also 16 at the time.

Being over 16 years old, the minimum age to give your consent in order to maintain sexual relations, the young people were "treated" as adults and the funny part is that they could have sex legally, but they could not have nude pictures with them, the latter being illegal.

Everything happened in North Carolina, a state where the laws are much more absurd than they seem, and convicting teenagers for having pictures that are not of their own person seems to be something normal for prosecutors who distance themselves from the real and normal world in criminal investigations.
