Apple blocks the download of OS X and some applications

Mac App Store purchasedThis evening, the Apple company made a radical decision regarding the Mac App Store and OS X, those from Cupertino preventing the download of some versions of OS X, but also of some applications from their application store for Macs.

More precisely, starting today, Mac owners will no longer be able to download the Aperture and iPhoto applications from the Purchased section of the Mac App Store, but together with them OS X Lion, OS X Mountain Lion or OS X Mavericks have also disappeared.

Although we are talking about some versions of OS X older than 2 years, the Aperture and iPhoto applications were removed from OS X only a few months ago, and the decision to prevent their re-download from the Mac App Store is quite strange, it upsets some Mac owners.

That's really unfortunate and hostile by Apple. What about people who use older operating systems due to compatibility problems with specific software? I recently had to re-install Mavericks, but didn't keep the "Install OS X Mavericks" app. Now my only chance of getting it again is to download it from another location, and I don't know whether that image has been compromised.

For now, Apple's decision to prevent the download of its old software has no explanation on the American company's website, but considering that many people will be disturbed by this decision, probably the spokesman for Cupertino will explain everything.

Until then, it would be good to save any kind of installation files of the previously mentioned OS X versions, but also of the Aperture and iPhoto applications.
