The Government of Romania application represents the first approach of this type implemented by the Victoria Palace through the Online Services and Design Directorate (DSOD) within the Chancellery of the Prime Minister of Romania.
The purpose of the application is to facilitate coherent and accessible information for citizens regarding the activities undertaken by the Romanian Government and the Prime Minister. In this sense, the users of the application can access in real time the news and novelties presented by the Government, the agenda of the Prime Minister, the biographies of all the members of the Cabinet, as well as the normative acts discussed during the weekly and extraordinary meetings of the Government.
The way of making the application is an innovative one for the administration. Thus, in order not to use any financial resources of the state to create the application, it was developed by three of the interns of the official Internship Program of the Romanian Government, 2015 edition, who participated in the DSOD activity.
The Government is the public authority of the executive power, which operates on the basis of the vote of confidence granted by the Parliament and which ensures the implementation of the country's internal and external policy and exercises the general leadership of the public administration. The Government is appointed by the President of Romania. The Government is made up of the Prime Minister and ministers.
The Prime Minister leads the Government and coordinates the activity of its members, respecting their legal attributions. The government adopts decisions and ordinances. Decisions are issued to organize the execution of laws. Ordinances are issued on the basis of a special enabling law, within the limits and under the conditions provided by it. The decisions and ordinances adopted by the Government are signed by the prime minister, countersigned by the ministers who have the obligation to implement them and are published in the Official Monitor of Romania.
The government meets weekly or whenever needed, to debate internal and external policy issues or aspects of general management of the public administration. Following the debates in the Government meeting, normative acts are adopted.
