Adobe confirms a critical Flash vulnerability

critical flash vulnerabilityAdobe published this morning a warning for users of Windows, Mac si Linux, notifying them that Flash 19.0.0.207 or older is affected by a security vulnerability that has been defined as critical, as it could allow hackers to take full control over an affected user's computer.

The exploit used for this vulnerability has the name CVE-2015-7645, being already used in a limited number of attacks discovered by computer security researchers, Adobe recommending uninstall Adobe Flash Player momentary.

Because the problem is so big, the only way to solve the problem now is to disable Flash on the affected computers, but those at Adobe I believe that a security patch will be released on October 19th, so until then you can live without Flash.

A critical vulnerability (CVE-2015-7645) has been identified in Adobe Flash Player 19.0.0.207 and earlier versions for Windows, Macintosh and Linux. Successful exploitation could cause a crash and potentially allow an attacker to take control of the affected system. Adobe is aware of a report that an exploit for this vulnerability is being used in limited, targeted attacks. Adobe expects to make an update available during the week of October 19.

Considering that Adobe presents this vulnerability as a critical one, it is as clear as possible that we are talking about a major problem affecting the company's plugin, so it would be good to uninstall flash from your computers for now to be safe.

On Monday you will be able to install the latest version of Adobe Flash and you will be able to see the entire web without problems again, but on the weekend you will have to be satisfied only with the part of the Internet that uses alternative flash technologies.
