Facebook: our application excessively consumes the iPhone battery

Facebook admitted during this day that their application consumes too much battery of the terminals iPhone and tablets iPad, a company spokesperson announcing that a patched version of the app is now being developed for release.

I told you in the morning how the Facebook application consumes the iPhone battery unnecessarilyAnd those from Facebook confirmed today that they have information according to which their application really has problems of this kind, and the company's engineers are currently trying to solve them.

I told you in the morning that the Facebook application works in the background because it automatically loads videos and plays them without sound, so users do not know what is happening while the application remains open in the background, the energy consumption being unusually high.

The even bigger problem is that the background activity of the Facebook application also generates unwanted cellular data traffic, so that in certain cases users could find themselves with additional costs for Internet traffic that they do not remember having made through application.

We have heard reports of some people experiencing battery issues with our iOS app. We're looking into this and hope to have a fix in place soon.

Although those from Facebook have admitted that their application has problems and generates unwanted activity in the background, unfortunately no one knows how long it will take until their application will be updated with a solution to the problem, although theoretically it should not take more than a week.

In the meantime, disabling the automatic playback of Facebook videos is a solution to almost completely reduce the excessive consumption of battery power.
