Welt – the smart belt developed by Samsung

WeltWelt is a product presented by three employees of Samsung within CES 2016, being an intelligent belt that aims to improve your everyday life.

In the video clip below you can see the smart belt of the three Samsung employees, it looks exactly like a normal belt, the difference being that in the buckle there are a series of smart sensors that perform biometric monitoring and provide a multitude of interesting information.

The Welt belt can be connected to an iPhone application and it immediately identifies our waist circumference and the number of steps taken daily, but the interesting part is that the product can tell us if in a day we ate more than we should have.

How does it do this? Well, Welt measures the tension around our waist, and when it exceeds the value from the initial recording when we grabbed it around the waist, it displays a notification in the application to let us know that we ate too much, a history of all tension and belt tensioners being present in the application.

For now, there is no information regarding the Welt release date or the price for which the product could be sold, so it remains to be seen what the Samsung company will announce.
