Apple does not know how many people use Apple News

For 3 months after the launch of Apple News, the Apple company erroneously counted the number of people using the application dedicated to the service offered together with iOS 9. Yesterday Eddy Cue, the senior vice president of the Internet division within Apple, acknowledged the problem in a the attempt to convince some partners not to leave the service.

Apple NewsApple doesn't know how many people use it Apple News app, the senior vice president of the Internet division, Eddy Cue, admitting that the application offered by those from Cupertino has a problem in correctly counting the number of people who use it.

This is the first time that an Apple company manager publicly acknowledges a problem of this kind with an application or a service offered to users around the world, and the information is surprising for a company with such great resources.

Eddy Cue stated that the data that reached the partner publishers shows a lower number of users than the real one and probably some decided to leave the platform because of the small number of people reported by Apple for using the platform.

3 months ago, Tim Cook stated that Apple News had been tried by 40 million people in the first month, but there is a chance that the figure would be much lower now if some partners had decided to leave and Apple took the unusual measure of to publicly acknowledge a mistake in reporting the number of users.

We're in the process of fixing that now, but our numbers are lower than reality. We don't know what the right number is. Usage has scaled very fast...but it doesn't mean we don't all want more.

Considering that Apple News is an application that basically does exactly what any other feed reader does, few people were interested in leaving other applications that offer much more functions, just to use something native that is not so much good.

In 2 weeks, Tim Cook will present the financial results of the Apple company and will probably talk again about the user figures of Apple News, so it will be interesting to see what new data emerges then.
