The police in Mumbai, India, decided to prohibits selfies in certain areas of the city after three young women fell into the Arabian Sea in a desperate attempt to take a selfie with which to collect many likes on Facebook and Instagram.

The three young women were rescued from the waters of the sea, but one of the young men who saved one of the girls drowned in the effort to help the young woman reach the shore, the police are now trying to prevent other similar tragedies by establishing bans on take selfies in certain areas.

For now, the police did not want to provide details about the areas where selfies will be prohibited because the project is in its early stages, but protective fences will probably be placed around the locations where people can fall from a great height.

On Saturday, three girls, Tarannum Ansari and her friends Anjum Khan and Masturi Wasim Ali Khan fell into the Arabian Sea while clicking selfies on a rock jutting out of the sea near Bandra Fort during tide, as they lost balance. A resident of Jaffer Baba colony, and a natural swimmer, Walunju, however drowned while trying to save Tarannum.

Unfortunately, stories of this kind are not unique and in Romania there have been similar problems with people who were electrocuted or who fell from considerable heights, so you have to be careful and not put your life in danger for a trivial picture.
