OS X 10.11.4 has support for Live Photos

OS X 10.11.4 Live PhotosOS X 10.11.4 beta was released the other day by the Apple company for application developers for the OS X platform, and those from Cupertino have finally implemented support for Live Photos in this version of the operating system for Macs.

Until the release of this build of OS X, Live Photos could only be seen through the Photos application and could only be shared through iCloud PhotoStream, but from now on they can be sent and viewed through iMessage and the Messages application.

In practice, users can transfer Live Photos to the computer, see them as they were created and send them to friends via iMessage directly from the Mac instead of using an iDevice to share that photo.

As you can see from the image above, the Apple company marks Live Photos with a special icon present in the lower left part of the image, so that whoever will have the picture in front of them will know that they have to make a long click on it to see the animation and hear the sound.

Why it took so long for OS X to have support for Live Photos, since the feature has been around for over 3 months, is hard to say, but because OS X 10.11.4 is offered in beta format, it will pass some time until regular users will be able to enjoy it.
