Company Apple is testing certain iPhones that have implemented Li-Fi technology, giving our users the opportunity to surf the Internet at theoretical speeds of up to 224 Gbps.
Described as being up to 100 times faster than Wi-Fi, the technology Li-Fi it offers data transfer speeds much higher than those of standard Wi-Fi, and the Apple company has already started testing iDevices that have it implemented, all with the idea of offering it in the future.
Li-Fi technology allows ultra-fast data transfer through near-ultraviolet light, it being presented as being able to be offered including through the light bulbs we use to light our homes, those from Apple being convinced that it is really a substitute long term for Wi-Fi.
The information regarding the testing of iPhone terminals with integrated Li-Fi was discovered in the source code of iOS 9.1, this being the first version of the iOS operating system in which the information regarding the new technology was found, but there are chances that Apple will test it for a very long time a long time.
Although there are companies testing Li-Fi technology in the real world, their number is very small, so it will be a long time before it is available to the general public with products that benefit from its existence.
In this idea, it is very unlikely that Apple will release an iPhone with integrated Li-Fi very soon because the technology is very far from being ready for ordinary users and is very many years away from reaching maturity, so we must have patience.
In the meantime we will certainly see more and more implementations of Li-Fi in devices capable of benefiting from it and new confirmations of the fact that Apple is testing the function, its implementation in the iPhone or iPad being able to seriously change the way we use the devices.
