Ford: the Apple car will be successful

Ford Apple carFord is confident in the success of the Apple car, a representative of the great car manufacturer stating in a recent interview that both Apple and Google have very high chances to produce successful cars.

Don Butler, the director of the Ford division that develops technologies for cars connected to the Internet, claims that Apple and Google are capable enough to develop autonomous cars, and this has also been affirmed by other car manufacturers in recent months.

Moreover, the Ford director believes that partnerships could be concluded between Apple and his company in order to develop autonomous cars, something that is probably not excluded by any of the companies at the moment.

Just like in the case of Tesla, Ford is enjoying the entry of Apple and Google into the autonomous car market and this is because in the case of the latter there are people capable enough to develop these technologies much faster than car manufacturers could.

We welcome the activity that's in the space. We think it's exciting. It's actually changed that we are embracing... I think Apple can do it. I think Google can do it. I think that what you will most likely see is a number of partnerships with companies that bring different skill-sets to the table working together to deliver solutions that neither of them could possibly have done on their own.

Ford has already implemented Siri Eyes Free technology in its own cars and is collaborating with Google to develop an autonomous car, so it is not excluded that Google will debut such a system in a car of the famous American car manufacturer.

In the case of Apple, for now it is not known if there will be partnerships regarding the implementation of a technology for autonomous cars, but Apple must hire someone to assemble its car and it will be interesting to see who will receive this task.
