Bosch has developed the smart pedal for cars

Bosch developed a smart pedal for cars, having the role of helping drivers to save fuel while driving, but in the process the device helps them to be much safer on the roads they use their cars on.

Those from Bosch claim that their smart pedal can reduce a car's fuel consumption by up to 7%, the system based on haptic feedback technology that generates vibrations at the foot level when drivers press the accelerator pedal more than necessary.

The intelligent pedal from Bosch it is connected to the car's on-board computer and knows what the running speed is and what the fuel consumption is, it activates not very intense vibrations to warn the driver that he must take his foot off the accelerator pedal.

Three types of vibrations were implemented by those from Bosch in smart pedal, the first type has the role of warning the driver about a problem with the car, the second has the role of suggesting that the speed should be changed to a higher or lower one, the last one indicating that the foot should be taken off the accelerator pedal.

Connected to the car's on-board computer, the smart pedal can activate vibrations for a multitude of problems or warnings in connection with which the driver should be alerted, the idea itself being extremely interesting for the cars of the future.

According to those from Bosch, the smart pedal can be connected to the internet to communicate with other cars in traffic, the driver being warned before entering a busy road or before reaching an area where an accident has occurred.
