Google donates Chromebooks for refugees in Europe

Google has initiated a program through which it donates Chromebooks for refugees in Europe, the American company trying to offer them easier access to education through an initiative called Project Reconnect, all the ultrabooks will arrive in Germany.

Google donates Chromebooks worth 5.3 million euros to various NGOs that work with refugees in Germany, they will help the refugees to learn more easily everything they need to know about the world they live in now, they will also have easier access to information.

Moreover, the Chromebooks will also be used to help the refugees to more easily complete the necessary documentation for the asylum applications, but all only with the help of the NGOs to which the computers will be distributed in the next period.

Each NGO can receive a maximum of 5000 Chromebooks from Google, their distribution will start on March 1st, but we are talking here only about a first round of products that will reach the organizations, a second round will be scheduled later in 2016.

They're automatically kept up to date with the latest features, apps and virus protection. And they can be configured and managed by a central administrator (in this case the nonprofits) to offer relevant programs, content and materials depending on the situation.

Last year the people from Google donated money for projects that were meant to help refugees in Europe and now its initiatives continue, the final goal being the same.

Although the Apple company last year collected donations from users to help the refugees who enter Europe every day, it is unlikely that we will see that MacBooks worth several million dollars could ever be donated by those from Cupertino.
