Spotify announced during this day that users in Germany, Great Britain and Sweden will have access to this new video streaming service in the immediate future, an application for iOS being in the development process, but currently unavailable.
Playlists of video content will be able to be created by users and for now it is not known if there will be subscriptions or if users will see ads, although for the launch the ads will be disabled for everyone, but the situation is temporary.
Spotify AB is finally rolling out its video product to the masses. The Swedish music-streaming service is planning to introduce video content on its Android app starting this week, followed by the iOS app by the end of next week in the US, the UK, Germany and Sweden, the company said.
Spotify enters a world of audio streaming services where Netflix dominates along with Hulu and other similar companies, so it will be interesting to see what Spotify has in store for users.
