iOS and Android dominated the smartphone market in Q4 2015

Android and iOS are the most used operating systems for mobile terminals, that of Google having a market share almost 5 times higher than that held by the operating system developed by Apple for iDevices.

In Q4 2015, iOS and Android together captured 98.4% of the global smartphone market, the remaining 1.6% being allocated to other operating systems such as Windows Phone, Blackberry and other operating systems less known to the whole world.

Android won 80.7% of the smartphone market while iOS only had 17.7% of it, the difference being very big because Apple is fighting alone with thousands of manufacturers of Android terminals, most of them much cheaper than the cheapest iPhone.

Apple will never win the battle with Android, unless it will sell iPhones at extremely low prices, but the fact that it has a decent market share confirms its supremacy over Microsoft, Blackberry and other companies that are competitors at the moment.

Apple and Samsung sold 2015 million smartphones together in 551, the figure being an impressive one, but most of the premium terminals were sold by the Apple company, as happens every year, it collecting 91% of the profit of mobile phone manufacturers.
