Apple was found guilty of copying a Samsung patent

In a spectacular reversal of the situation, those from Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), were found guilty of copying an invention patent of the company Samsung, an American court taking this decision during this day in an appeal filed against a decision that obliges it to pay 120 million dollars to the Apple company.

This decision was given last year in a process that was based on a complaint filed by Apple against Samsung for copying some patents, the court winning the case, but this decision was turned 180 degrees today .

Samsung was convicted for infringing patents that are based on the slide to unlock system, the auto-correction system for written texts and the quick links system that allows calling by pressing a phone number written in an email and many other actions similar.

Today's decision was given by a panel of judges made up of 3 judges, so we are talking about a decision based on the unanimous decision of three people, so the situation is seriously complicated for the Apple company, although for now it is not known exactly which patent was violated.

A US appeals court on Friday overturned a $120 million jury verdict against Samsung, finally handing the South Korean smartphone maker a significant win in its longstanding patent feud with top rival Apple. The US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, DC, said Samsung Electronics Co Ltd did not infringe Apple's "quick links" patent, and that two other patents covering the iPhone's slide-to-unlock and auto-correct features were invalid. The court also said Apple was liable for infringing one of Samsung's patents.
