We lose 28 days of the year staring at our smartphone

According to a study conducted by adweek, people lose 28 days a year staring at the smartphone. From early in the morning until late at night, by rotation, they check social networks, play, and/or take selfies. The study showed that 4 out of 5 smartphone owners use their gadget in the first quarter of an hour after waking up! For 80% of them, it is the first thing they do when they open their eyes. Many of them take their smartphones even to the toilet and check their messages or social networks, reports ch.tillate.com.

From Friday to Sunday, smartphone owners spend 163 minutes communicating and using social networks on their smartphone. From Monday to Thursday, they spend only 87 minutes doing these things.

In the same study, the time lost for taking a perfect selfie: nine times a week for seven minutes. Young people usually take 9 selfies in a week.

Maybe many of us don't realize it yet, but wasting time on the smartphone is a real problem. For example, a journalist from the daily newspaper Liberation analyzed his friends on Facebook for a few days and thus learned their habits: he knew exactly what time one went to bed, when another woke up, the moments when they were on break and the time they left from work. All according to Facebook's Messenger application. The journalist also knew who was at home and who was at work, thanks to the hours at which the targeted people connected. Thus, he found that one of his friends was suffering from insomnia, he was surprised by the fact that one could know the quality of sleep just by taking a look at the messages on the social network.
