At CES 2016, the researchers, inventors and producers of new things wanted to attract the big ones as well as the little ones with their inventions. Thus, Gemio has created an "intelligent socialization bracelet" for teenagers.
The product costs 100 dollars and makes more sense if it is taken in pairs, being something specially designed for friends. These bracelets have red, green and blue LEDs that create light combinations that match the user's mood. The so-called "smart friendship bracelets" can be synchronized with those of friends, in the sense that they change their light signals depending on their presence, at a distance of less than 30 meters.
"We felt it was time to update the timeless tradition of friendship bracelets by using technology to add new layers of meaning and connection, while still preserving its personal and symbolic value," said Michael Bettua, CEO and cofounder of Gemio.
The "social bracelet" works with a Bluetooth connection, an accelerometer and a gyroscope to detect movement and LEDs to connect to a smartphone using the MyGemio application and then create connections between friends.
The light signals of the bracelets also change depending on the gestures or pointing towards an object whose color the light signal can be programmed to match.
