Tim Cook occupies a leading position in the top of the biggest leaders on the planet

Tim Cook has been the CEO of Apple since the middle of 2011, and during this period he demonstrated that he has everything a suitable leader needs to lead an Apple company, so Fortune decided to place him again in a leading position in the top of the most important leaders on the planet.

In this year's list, Fortune places Tim Cook in the 5th position behind Pope Francis, but also in front of John Legend, Cook being the second CEO of a top US company, Jeff Bezos occupying the first position in the opinion of Fortune.

On the second position we find Angela Markel whom you all know, on the third position we find Aung San Suu Kyi, the most influential political figure in Myanmar, Pope Francisco being placed on the fourth position, each of these elections being apparently as suitable as possible.

As for the reasons for choosing Tim Cook, Fortune discusses the Apple CEO's refusal to help the FBI and compromise the security of iOS, his stubbornness now bearing the first fruits, and some probably expected something like this.

You can do the whole list see here.

Tim Cook and other Silicon Valley luminaries have been quietly playing tug-of-war with Washington over digital privacy for years—at least since Edward Snowden leaked disclosures about government surveillance back in 2013. But this year, when a court ordered Apple to create a backdoor for an iPhone used by a suspect in the terrorist shooting in San Bernardino, Calif., Tim Cook had a resounding answer: Back off. In a letter to Apple customers, Cook called the FBI's demands "chilling" and "an overreach." While op tech execs have lined up behind Cook, it's Apple that is facing the FBI in the showdown. Cook has put Apple's popularity at stake in defense of principle: In a Pew Research Center survey, a majority (51% to 38%) said that Apple should comply with the FBI's request. But court filings by the Justice Department suggest that it may blink before Cook does.
