macOS is going to be the new name of OS X

The Apple company changed the name of the operating system from iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch from iPhone OS to iOS a few years ago, the launch of the iPad tablet being the reason why a rethinking of the used terminology was necessary at that time.

From that point, a lot of people started to wonder how long it will be until Apple decides to change it too the name of the operating system for Macs from OS X to macOS, and this change seems to be underway, at least within Apple.

According to some lines of code discovered inside the source code of OS X 10.11.4, the engineers Apple already uses the name macOS for OS X those from Cupertino, the change being a natural one because we are talking about an operating system for Macs.

macOS is a much more appropriate name for the operating system of Macs if we look at the current name of OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan, and all that remains to be done now is for Apple to officially announce the change in a conference.

If this will happen, then WWDC 2016 which will be organized in June will be the perfect location to announce the change of the name of the operating system for Macs, and from that time we are only a little over two months away.
