The App Store still generates much more money than Google Play

Although Google Play has overtaken the App Store in terms of downloads for some time now monthly on mobile terminals, the application store of those from Apple it still generates much more money for those from Cupertino, but also for developers from all over the world.

According to new statistics provided by an American company, Google Play generates 2 times more downloads than the App Store, but instead The App Store generates 90% more money, the difference being almost as big in both cases for companies.

The increase in revenue generated by the App Store is mainly due to China, where revenue increased by 2.2 times compared to the same period last year, Japan being surpassed for the first time in terms of revenue and downloads generated for Apple and developers.

Until 2 years ago, the Apple company was the queen of the application stores, but it lost its title in terms of downloads, but the one in terms of revenue is unlikely to lose it too soon, considering that Google still does not have a solution to compete seriously with those from Cupertino.

App Store vs Google Play revenue

Apart from China, it seems that other developing countries also had significant contributions to the growth recorded by the App Store, Vietnam, Argentina and Egypt being among them, the Apple company giving them much more attention than in the years passed.

Having said that, the App Store maintains its supremacy in the segment of online application stores for mobile terminals and it seems that Google Play is still extremely far from catching up.
