Apple Maps can now also be accessed from a PC

After more than 3 years since its launch Apple Maps for iOS and OS X, the Apple company is finally preparing a system that allows access to its map system including from PCs using a normal browser, as is the case with Google Maps.

Before presenting everything in the frame WWDC 2016, the Apple company integrated into the page dedicated to the event a map that helps developers find the location, using the Apple Maps servers to provide information about the destination.

For now, the whole system is rudimentary and only allows viewing maps with zoom in/out, and a developer has created a website called FruityMaps.com which allows viewing Apple Maps from anywhere and anytime, without too many functions.

Everything is a demonstration of how the API can be used MAPK to display Apple Maps in a normal browser, the functionality to be extended as Apple provides complete documentation for the API dedicated to its maps.

Many people have asked how long it will be until Apple Maps has a dedicated website that will allow you to access the maps and some of the functions available exclusively in iOS and OS X, and today we have an answer in the form of the FruityMaps website.

Having said that, it is unlikely that until WWDC 2016 we will find out a lot of details about MapKit, but the option to access Apple Maps online and from Windows PCs seriously increases the popularity of Apple's service.
