Innovation Labs – day 2 of Boost Day and the evolution of projects

On Wednesday I had the opportunity to participate in the second day of the Boost Day within Innovation Labs 2016, the student teams that passed the first selection phase now presenting the development plans of the ideas they are trying to turn into businesses.

With the help of mentors who support the project Innovation Labs, some teams managed to develop part of the products or the software they rely on to turn their ideas into reality, and on Wednesday each explained what they intend to do within the product development plan.

During the second day a Boost Day the projects from the agriculture, cyber security and retail categories were presented, among the ideas reached in this phase are some that have real potential to be transformed into successful businesses, if they have the right support.

On this page you can find all the registered teams and what they promise, but next I will talk about the ones that caught my attention.

Squirted Innovation Labs 2016

squired is a team that aims to develop a system that allows making reservations for restaurants with the choice of the table at which the customer will sit, this differentiating element compared to everything that exists on the market, offering the user the ability to benefit from the best experience dine out.

Moreover, their application allows feedback on the quality of the service offered inside, everything being available online so that all users of the platform know what they will receive when they visit a certain location.

M4 Security Innovation Labs

M4 Security is a team that aims to develop a Bluetooth headset that secures phone calls made by users, incorporating an encryption system that makes it impossible to intercept calls during conversations.

The Bluetooth headset can work with any kind of mobile phones and on any kind of GSM connections, each headset being customized to communicate, initially, only with another headset of the manufacturer, and in the future with many other headsets from the same series.

Virtual Assistant Innovation Labs

Virtual Assistant is a system designed to help users to more quickly discover information and suggestions for the purchase of products when they visit various retail locations, they can get in touch with specialists at the stores or manufacturers of electronic products.

Practically, a customer talks to a specialist of a store or manufacturer and quickly receives recommendations regarding the product he wants to buy, the system eliminating from the equation store employees who are not always informed or willing to help.

asteria

asteria is the last team I'm talking about, proposing to create an online hub through which lawyers and clients can get in touch more easily. Moreover, clients receive free consultation and preliminary assessment of cases in 24 hours, the information regarding lawyers' fees being fixed and known in advance.

Practically, Asteria wants to make a transparent method of contracting legal services from lawyers and to oblige them to perform their work at the highest quality standards, all without hidden costs and with the fulfillment of the promised results.

Innovation Labs is sponsored by Orange Romania in partnership with Carrefour and the Romano-Americana Foundation.
