Samsung distances itself from Apple in smartphone sales

Samsung sold 2 times more smartphones than Apple in Q1 2016.

Q1 2016 was not a very good one for Apple, as the Americans announced since January, but the first estimates of the analysts present a very difficult situation for those from Cupertino, something that many expected, considering the decline in popularity of iPhone 6S.

According to TrendForce, in Q1 2016 Samsung sold 2 times more smartphones than Apple and actually managed to steal the market share from those in Cupertino, reaching at the moment to have a almost double the market share compared to the Apple one.

Analysts estimate that Samsung would have sold 81 million smartphones in Q1 2016 from 40 million iPhones that Apple would have sold, the difference being enormous in favor of the Koreans, their market share increasing from 22.1% to 27.8%, making a comparison with Q1 2015.

In the case of Apple, the same comparison reveals that we are talking about a market share of 14.4% compared to 20.9%, the difference being in proportion to the decrease in sales, and on Wednesday we will find out how big the problem is for those from Cupertino, they will announce financial results for Q1 2016.

Samsung double smartphone sales

Apple has put a lot of hope in iPhone SE to compensate for the drop in sales of the iPhone 6S, but analysts are not quite so confident that the new terminal is capable of generating sales that are even good enough to keep Apple growing in the coming months.

Nor for iPhone 7 things don't look so good, with analysts predicting a disaster for Apple in 2016, due to the fact that the new smartphone will not have enough attractive novelties.
