Facebook has 1.65 billion monthly active users

Yesterday the company Facebook announced its financial results for Q1 2016 and apart from the revenue and profit that are increasing, the company Facebook announced that the number of monthly active users is constantly increasing, 1.65 billion people are now using the network.

According to those from Facebook, the figure is 15% higher than the one recorded just a year ago, the increase being large if we consider that we are talking about more than 100 million monthly users who have joined the social network during this period.

As for the number of daily active users, it reached 1.09 billion, an increase of 16% compared to the same period last year, and although the percentage increase is small, in reality we are talking about almost 100 million more people who use Facebook daily.

Moving now to mobile terminals, 989 million users access Facebook daily from a mobile terminal, the figure being 24% higher than the one recorded a year ago, this being the biggest increase among all usage indicators.

  • Daily active users (DAUs) – DAUs were 1.09 billion on average for March 2016, an increase of 16% year-over-year.
  • Mobile DAUs – Mobile DAUs were 989 million on average for March 2016, an increase of 24% year-over-year.
  • Monthly active users (MAUs) – MAUs were 1.65 billion as of March 31, 2016, an increase of 15% year-over-year.
  • Mobile MAUs – Mobile MAUs were 1.51 billion as of March 31, 2016, an increase of 21% year-over-year.

Finally, there are the users who access Facebook monthly from a mobile terminal, the figure being 1.51 billion users, very close to that of the total users, it being an increase of 21% compared to the same period last year.
