Apple has launched an educational subscription for Apple Music

During this day, the Apple company launched a new subscription for Apple Music, being dedicated to pupils and students from several countries around the world who want to enjoy with 50% discount of what the Cupertino streaming service offers.

The new subscription joins those individually si by family which the Apple company sells, its halved price being justified by the fact that those users are part of the educational environment and must enjoy the service with a substantial discount.

In the USA the subscription costs only 5 dollars instead of 10 dollars, what is the normal price, and students must attend the courses of one of the educational institutions accepted by Apple, high schools and universities being part of the program.

Those from Apple have concluded a partnership with an organization called UNiDAYs that checks the student status of those who try to benefit from the discount, for now the subscription is only available in: USA, Great Britain, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Ireland and Denmark.

That means in the US, where an individual membership to Apple Music costs $9.99 per month, the student membership will be $4.99 per month instead. The option isn't just arriving in the US, though. Students in other countries, including the UK, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, will also be able to take advantage of the new membership option.

Pupils and students who have an active Apple Music subscription can switch to the cheapest and benefit from this discount for a period of 4 years, so we are talking about a very long period in which they can use the system at a reduced price.

The launch of this subscription brings Apple in line with its competitors who have had these offers for years, but Apple managed to implement it only almost 1 year after the official launch of Apple Music.
