How technology affects today's teenagers

Those from Common Sense Media recently interviewed a number of 1.200 children between the ages of 12 and 18, and their parents to find out how technology affects today's teenagers.

Thus, one out of two teenagers feels and admits that they are addicted to the smartphone, while 59% of parents are worried that this addiction may appear in the case of their children. The results of the study show clearly. 72% of teenagers respond to text messages or messages on social networks IMMEDIATELY, while 80% check their smartphone every hour.

James Steyer, director of Common Sense Media says that the role of the survey was to show us how the life of a family has changed in 2016. A small part of families are struggling to teach teenagers to use the technology of today in a way useful, healthy. This is because many of the behaviors and negative effects in life are associated with the excessive use of mobile phones.

Parents are not too involved in educating them about the moderate use of phones, although 85% of them notice that the mobile phone distracts the attention of teenagers from much more important activities. The differences between parents and children, in terms of living conditions, can be the viable explanation of the addiction label put by parents on the addiction that children show towards smartphones.
