Netflix launches fast.com and tells you how good your internet connection is

During the last night the company Netflix announced the release fast.com, a website that aims to allow us to test our internet connection to see the speed we have when using the Netflix streaming services.

The website is extremely simple and right from the connection it initiates a download test to measure the download speed of the content from the Internet, and as you can see below, in my case the speed is 63 Mpbs for a Fiberlink 500 connection .

The download test of Netflix it is made through servers outside of Romania, so the speed will be much lower than the one you achieve in the case of downloads from the country, but this is how you know the quality at which you can stream the movies available in Netflix.

Those from Netflix created the website to push consumers towards internet service providers in order to complain about the poor quality of the streams, no other utility being imaginable for fast.com at the moment.

We all want a faster, better Internet, yet Internet speeds vary greatly and can be affected by other users on your network or congestion with your Internet service provider. When you're experiencing streaming issues, fast.com allows you to check the download speeds you're getting from your Internet service provider. Using Netflix servers, fast.com works like other globally available tools including speedtest.net, and the results should be similar in most cases.

Having said that, if you use Netflix or intend to use Netflix, test your internet connection on the fast.com website and then on speedtest.net, and if it is lower than the one promised by the operator, contact him for fixing problems.
