Spotify is forced to reduce subscription prices

Apple Music has helped Spotify to increase its subscriber base, but Apple's service is forcing the Swedes to reduce the price of the family subscription, so that starting today, Spotify is asking $14.99 for subscriptions of up to 6 people.

This family subscription now has exactly the same price as Apple's and offers the same benefits, the price being halved compared to the one charged until now, the number of users who can use it being expanded from five to six.

Following this change, all those who have subscriptions Spotify Premium or Family will be automatically migrated to the new subscription with a lower price, those from Spotify may lose serious amounts of money if the customer base does not grow substantially in the future.

The new subscription of those from Spotify it will become active today all over the world, with the exception of Canada, where the Swedes decided not to change the price charged for it, the problem possibly being based on the high licensing fees for the country.

Spotify has a much larger user base than that of Apple Music, i.e. 30 million subscribers compared to the 13 million that Apple has, but those from Cupertino attract approximately 1 million new subscribers monthly, so at some point it could reach Spotify.
