Qualcomm X12 brings 4Mbps 600G+ internet to iPhone 7

In the fall, Apple will launch iPhone 7 si 7 iPhone Plus for users all over the world and I found out a few weeks ago that Intel will provide GSM modems for the iPhone 7, but would share the orders for this component with those from Qualcomm.

For the iPhone 7, those from Qualcomm would offer a new modem called X12, this offering theoretical internet browsing speeds in 4G+ networks up to 600 Mbps, the speed of upload reaching up to 150 Mbps in networks that offer such support.

The new modem from Intel would be able to offer similar speeds for internet browsing, so practically iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus should have the same performance for internet browsing, but few mobile networks support LTE Cat 12 .

At the moment, the iPhone 6S is capable of reaching download speeds of up to 300 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, so we are talking about a doubling of the download speed and a tripling of the upload speed for the iPhone 7 starting from the fall .

Moreover, those from Qualcomm are also preparing to launch modems capable of reaching theoretical download speeds of 1 Gbps through a mobile network, most likely 5G, but it will be a long time before it will have support for mobile phone operators.

Meanwhile, in Romania we are limited to 300 Mbps for download and 50 Mbps for upload in the main mobile networks, and this has very little chance of changing too soon, at least based on the information that is available now regarding the evolution telecom technology in Romania.
