ARM Cortex A73 processors could revolutionize the iPhone and iPad

Today the ARM company presented in the framework Computex 2016 the new processors Cortex A73, promising to offer up to 30% better performance for tablets and smartphones, while energy consumption would decrease by up to 30%.

The new processors Cortex A73 it generates even less heat during operation, so that mobile terminals would be cooler after intense sessions of use in games or for surfing the Internet, such a change being requested for years.

With working frequencies of up to 2.8 GHz, these processors Cortex A73 it could even offer the possibility of displaying 4K resolutions on iPhone or even iPad screens, of course if Apple would ever want to offer us such benefits for terminals.

The architecture developed by ARM will allow the production of Cortex A73 processors using a 10nm manufacturing process, much more efficient than the one used at the moment, and this explains the major increase in performance or the reduction of generated heat.

Apple uses the ARM architecture for the processors implemented in the iPhone or iPad, and the use of Cortex A73 could be a very good decision for Apple, as they annually need better performance for the chips used in iDevices.

According to those from ARM, the first processors manufactured using the new architecture should hit the market at the beginning of next year, so in the iPhone 7 we will not see the new technology used, but the iPhone 7S could come with a pleasant surprise for us.
