Today marks 11 years since the launch of the first Mac with an Intel processor

On 6 June 2005 Steve Jobs he would present to the whole world one of the best decisions made by him as president of the Apple company, then being launched the first Mac equipped with a processor produced by the company Intel.

Abandoning the well-known, at that time, PowerPC, the Apple company surprised a lot of people with the decision to use Intel processors in its products, but the change would be an auspicious one that remains active even today, all Apple Macs using exclusively Intel processors.

Intel processors offer superior performance to those from AMD and the Apple company benefits from innovations in the field of chips for laptops, so it can offer MacBooks with very good performance thanks to those from Intel.

In 2005, no one would have guessed that in 2016 Intel would become the largest producer of processors for PCs without having an extremely strong competitor, those from AMD having numerous problems over the years and offering inferior processors .

The collaboration between Apple and Intel is so close now that it will extends to the iPhone 7 as well, and although Apple develops its own processors for Mac, it is unlikely that it will abandon Intel in the very near future.
