Countries whose citizens are more intelligent register a lower degree of content piracy

Piracy is a global problem, one so big that the authorities are starting to impose fines or send citizens to court for content piracy, the creators of various types of content demanding even harsher punishments for those who pirate.

A study recently published by the Germans reveals, however, that countries that have citizens with a high IQ register a lower level of piracy than countries where citizens have a low IQ, and the graph below shows the results for each country in detail.

The study carried out by the Germans compares data on the IQ level of citizens from 100 countries around the world, its conclusions relevant to the fact that in countries with intelligent citizens there is less hacking, but we are not talking here about the standard of living or purchasing power, but only about the level of intelligence.

The exceptions to the rule are China, where there is a high level of citizen intelligence, but also a very high rate of piracy, or South Africa, where the level of intelligence is low, and piracy is carried out at a very low level.

"We find that intelligence has a statistically significant negative impact on piracy rates. After controlling for the potential effect of outlier nations in the sample, software piracy rate declines by about 5.3 percentage points if national IQ increases by 10 points."

If you look carefully, you will also make out the call sign for Romania in the image below, our country having an average level of intelligence and an average to high level in terms of piracy, and these results somewhat match what is happening in the country Our.

No matter how hard the authorities try to eradicate piracy, it is unlikely that this will happen to the extent they want, all attempts to shut down large websites that distribute pirated content have so far been doomed to failure.
