iPhone 7 could be cheaper, Apple is asking for price cuts

The iPhone 7 could be cheaper, with the Apple company asking for price reductions for the components manufactured for the future smartphone.

The Apple company has started a campaign asking its partners to reduce the prices of the components that are going to arrive in iPhone 7, the Americans wanting to maintain at a high level the profit generated by its line of smartphones, this in the conditions in which global sales are also starting to decrease.

Apple has already discussed with a variety of its partners to reduce the prices of certain components that will arrive in the iPhone 7 and 7 iPhone Plus, those from Foxconn receiving similar requests regarding the assembly price of the terminals, Pegatron being affected to a similar extent.

Considering that the profit of some smartphone manufacturers is starting to decrease due to the reduction of interest in smartphones and a decrease in global sales, some have already accepted the proposals from Apple just with the idea of receiving more orders and having receipts at least as high, even if the profit per contract would decrease.

Apple's requests also come against the background of an increase in competition between Asian manufacturers of smartphone components, some smaller companies offering better prices than those of more well-known companies, and Apple has taken courage and is asking for price reductions, including to its main partners.

"Currently, Largan is facing strong competition from Japan-based Kantatsu over camera module orders, while Foxconn and Pegatron are seeing Apple adding new ODM partners such as Wistron for the production of its new iPhone. Apple's demand for price cuts is currently affecting Japan-based component suppliers the most since their quotes are usually higher."

Considering that the production price of the iPhone 7 will most likely be lower, there are chances that the iPhone 7 will be cheaper than the iPhone 6S, but if this happens, don't imagine that the difference will be colossal, but up to 10 euros, because Apple will not want to reduce more for users.

On the other hand, if the iPhone 7 will not be cheaper, then it will have more lots of storage space standard, as a variety of rumors have told us so far and I think that many would be willing to pay the same price for the iPhone 7 as for the iPhone 6S, if it had double the storage space.
