Samsung Galaxy S7 Active failed the waterproof test

Samsung is involved in a new embarrassing scandal for any kind of smartphone manufacturer, and this is because the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active, its most resistant smartphone, is not water resistant, even though the company markets it promoting this feature as one among the most important.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active is, theoretically, as good as Samsung Galaxy S7 in terms of water resistance, it can be used almost 2 meters under water for 30 minutes, in reality the device does not withstand water and breaks down just a few minutes after complete submersion.

Samsung did not refuse to acknowledge the problem, as the Apple company normally does, for example, but stated that it had received several complaints from users and claims that the problem would actually be with some defective units delivered to customers, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active being sold only in the US by the Koreans.

The problem here is that Samsung promotes the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active as a smartphone that can be used underwater by users, but in reality it is not able to withstand being submerged, so anyone trying to take advantage of this feature will be disappointed to find out that the reality it is completely different from Samsung's marketing.

Samsung says all S7 phones, including the Active, are designed to survive in up to 5 feet of water for 30 minutes. Consumer Reports says that after a half-hour in water, the Active's screen flashed green and other colors and did not respond to touch. Tiny bubbles appeared on the camera lenses. Consumer Reports tested a second Active phone to verify results, and it also failed.

Considering that we are talking about a terminal sold in only one country, it is unlikely that the problem will affect an extremely large number of people, but it should be a lesson for those tempted to try this kind of smartphone features- to discover that in reality they are not as resistant as the creators claim.
