Steal nude pictures of celebrities and you only get 6 months in prison

One of the hackers who managed to steal the nude pictures of some Hollywood stars this year, received a 6-month sentence yesterday, which he must serve in prison, the man's name is Andrew Helton, he is originally from Oregon, US.

Helton admitted his guilt in stealing some compromising photos of some stars, and apart from the stars he also focused on the people close to them, so that for 2 years he stole various data from the accounts they had on various websites , or even directly from email boxes, obtaining a multitude of compromising data.

The hacker mainly used phishing attacks to steal people's data, that is, he tricked them into entering their personal data and login data in various fake websites, the information obtained by him being then very easily used to those real accounts to which he really wanted to gain access.

Apple and Google accounts were attacked

The pictures and films stolen by Andrew Helton remained on his personal computer, and the American authorities refused to disclose the names of the stars whose accounts were hacked by the man, so we will not know which of the pictures will be associated with him.

Unlike the hacks of last fall, Andrew Helton's did not end with the publication of compromising images obtained from the accounts of the stars, and this is probably where the very small sentence that the judge gave him came from, but this will encourage other hackers to behave exactly the same.

Helton's lawyer declared in court that his client was suffering from a mental illness at the time of committing the crime, he still used emails that appeared to come from Apple and Google, his victims were tricked into entering their personal data, and from here everything was extremely simple for him.
