iPhone 7 has Intel modem, other notable changes

The iPhone 7 logic board confirms the implementation of an Intel modem, but also serious changes to the way the internal components are positioned.

Last week I saw the first ones iPhone 7 logic board images, this being photographed probably in one of the factories that produces this component for the Apple company, and if then we didn't know much about what it brings us, well today we have some additional details.

Based on the image that appeared last week, it seems that Apple really decided to use it Intel modems in iPhone 7, or at least in certain models, Qualcomm's can be used in only a percentage of the terminals, or can be completely removed from the list of components used by Apple.

In the image below you can see marked the space where the new one should be positioned Intel modem for iPhone 7, based on the location for the pins, it was concluded that this has a different configuration than the one used for Qualcomm modems, it seems to fit perfectly on the configuration for Intel modems.

iPhone 7 will have Intel modem

More specifically, the Intel XMM 7360 modem was rumored for implementation in iPhone 7, and the dimensions are similar to those of this component, but it would be used without the chip  SMARTi 5, Apple being able to use a different component, so it remains to be seen how the package will look when the iPhone 7 will be released.

Apart from these, it seems that in this logic board for iPhone 7 there is the same space dedicated to the audio amplifier, although Apple will give up the 3.5mm audio port, but the space for the chip dedicated to charging the battery is larger, and the other day we found out that iPhone 7 will have a fast charging system.

What this logic board does not show us is whether or not the iPhone 7 will have one 3D Touch Home button, a lot of people are waiting for the implementation of this component, but for now there is no physical confirmation for offering such a functionality, so we will have to wait until we find out the clear details.

Having said that, Apple has made many changes to the iPhone 7 logic board, but who knows how much we will feel them.
