Google Allo steals features from Snapchat

Allo, sends encrypted and temporary messages, Google's new messaging application being tested for release for iPhone and Android.

Google Allo this messaging application developed by the American company for launch on global markets, and today we learn some interesting details about it. According to some details published today, Allo will encrypt messages sent between users and allow, among other things, sending messages that expire, just like Snapchat.

Basically, Allo will encrypt messages between users when they are sent and received, such as iMessage and WhatsApp Messenger, so all data will be safe when they are sent. This system allows the creation of "incognito" chats in which messages can be sent that have a validity period attached, after which they expire and can no longer be read.

This function for the expiration of messages can be activated or deactivated at discretion, but in the case of "incognito" messages, users will not be allowed to take any screenshots, as in Snapchat. Basically, Google has taken over popular functions from Snapchat and offers them to users, but it is not the first company to do this.

Allo has also implemented an internal search engine, so users will be able to search for keywords in conversations to quickly reach something of interest that they wrote to a friend. This search engine would also work with Google Assistant for questions, everything being thought to be as easy to use as possible.

Allo is currently available in a beta version for Android users, but it is not known when the official version will be released, although it probably won't last long. The other day, Google launched the Duo application for video calls between various platforms, and Allo will come as a complement to Google's efforts to compete with Facebook.
