Apple is preparing to remove the iPad Air 2 from sale, the tablet from Cupertino already disappearing from the stocks of some stores, without their coverage being announced by Apple. Some US retailers have run out of iPad Air 2 tablets in stock, and their replenishment is not announced until September 7, when it will take place iPhone 7 presentation.
Until now we were told that Apple would prepare to launch new models of the iPad only during the next year, so if the iPad Air 2 goes out of sale by then, there will be no replacement for it. This wouldn't be that common, but every time a product went out of stock in a store, more than 1 year after launch, it was going to be discontinued.
iPad Air 2 is 2 years old since its launch and its replacement in Apple's offer was launched only in March 2016, so a year and a half after it. It is speculated that next year Apple will launch new iPad Pro models, but until then the iPad Air 2 could become just a memory, without Apple saying too much about it.
It is hard to predict if on Wednesday Apple will announce something about a tablet, but it is clear that the iPad Air 2 will be released in the not too distant future.
