iBag2 – The bag that closes by itself when the budget is exceeded

iBag2 can be considered an accessory that should not be missing from women's arsenal, especially those women who cannot resist the temptation to overspend. These people have access to an ultra-technological aid, a bag that lights up, vibrates and locks when the owner wants to take out his wallet to buy something that exceeds his budget.

According to a study conducted this year of 6.838 Americans, the majority of credit card holders — 64% of a total of 158,6 million — make unplanned expenses every month.

The bag system is based on modern technology and includes an Arduino Uno microprocessor, a computerized switch, a vibration system, Bluetooth, GPS and LED bulbs. The bag can also be used to charge mobile devices and is equipped with a device that activates if the bag is stolen.

  • A timer connected to electromagnets that lock the bag according to your most vulnerable spending moments during the course of a day;

  • An RFID system connected to LED lights and vibration motors, which light up blue and vibrate each time your wallet is taken out as a discreet reminder of spending goals;

  • GPS tracking that warns you via amber lights and vibration when you are nearing one of your pre-programmed vulnerable spending zones;

  • The locking function turns on if you proceed to enter your danger zone;

  • A reminder every two hours via yellow lights and vibration that it's time to reapply sunscreen; and

  • A bluetooth tracker Tile that will alert your phone through an app if the bag is a certain distance away from you.

This bag was invented by scientists in Ireland and is available in a pilot program in the United States. At this moment, the inventors are also working on a bag model iBag2 for men.
